What is Jin Shin Jyutsu?

Jin Shin Jyutsu® Physio-Philosophy is
a gentle ancient Japanese Art of harmonizing and balancing energy in the body. Very similar to acupressure and acupuncture (without needles), it promotes optimal health, well-being, and facilitates our own profound healing ability to ‘truly KNOW (Help) MYSELF’.  All are born with this “Powerful Art of Being”. CA_bigstock-Seiganto-ji-temple29170070OPTIt is a philosophy, psychology, and physiology based upon an all-inclusive, ever moving (changing) energy that circulates throughout the universe, within and without every organism. It reveals the knowing of our main universal revitalizing energy, which follows a circulatory pattern. The energy descends down the front as we exhale and ascends the back as we inhale. It is our source of life, our life force energy, chi, ki, or prana. A valuable complement to Western medicine, JSJ utilizes the hands and breath to release physical, mental and emotional blockages in order enhance the body’s natural ability to heal and rejuvenate. It is a simple, non-invasive, non-toxic way to alleviate and prevent illness, stress, and pain. JSJ offers a path to inner peace, wellness, relaxation and joy, which honors the whole person, body, mind and spirit. You can use JSJ in conjunction with conventional medicine to help yourself and others facilitate the healing process, or you may use the knowledge and tools preventively, to sustain a sense of harmony and wellbeing. Ultimately, Jin Shin Jyutsu will restore you to a knowledge of yourself and of your long-dormant innate ability to improve the quality of your life. Stress has been widely recognized as causing everything from minor aches and pains to chronic health problems. Jin Shin Jyutsu induces relaxation, and greatly reduces the effects of stress. The deep relaxation derived from Jin Shin Jyutsu brings balance to the body’s energies, allowing the body to function better, feel better and heal more quickly. Attitude is our emotion… what we are. The goal is not to live our emotion, nor to erase it, but understand it. Why is my sadness? My indigestion? My anger? My back pain? JSJ helps us to facilitate this understanding, and helps harmonize the attitudes to regenerate and be the essence of who we are. JSJ is also known as ‘the Art of Happiness’, the ‘Art of Longevity’, and the ‘Art of Benevolence’ enabling us to keep ourselves healthy, happy, and youthful. It helps us find that tone, the perfect expression of harmony that exists within everyone. It demonstrates a way of Being to understand universal oneness, and to know and help ourselves in order that we may harmoniously flow within our lives and the ever-flowing world around us. Jin Shin Jyutsu is an art as opposed to a technique because a technique is a mechanical application, whereas an art is a skillful creation. This beautiful, simple Art is our inheritance. It is an innate part of man’s wisdom – simplifying the complexities of existence – and is truly an Art of Living.
